A Year with Frog And Toad

IMP's semi-centenary production, A Year with Frog and Toad, is an area favorite. Often requested by educators, this wonderful tale brings the stories of Arnold Lobel to life, adding another dynamic aspect to the written page. These stories are currently part of the State of Alabama curriculum and give IMP the opportunity to provide low cost field trips for school systems of North Alabama. A Year with Frog and Toad was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Please note the early curtain time for the evening performances!

Inspecting Carol

This year's "Minus the Music" production is Inspecting Carol Think A Christmas Carol meets The Government Inspector meets Noises Off in this hilarious hit from Seattle. A man who asks to audition at a small theater is mistaken for an informer for the National Endowment for the Arts. Everyone caters to the bewildered wannabe actor and he is given a role in the current production, A Christmas Carol. Everything goes wrong and hilarity is piled upon hilarity. Contains some strong language.

Nunsense!

Winner of the Outer Critics' Circle awards for the best off-Broadway musical and for the best book and best music, Nunsense is a hilarious talent show staged by five survivors at the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery, the rest of the sisterhood having succumbed to botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God. The remaining "Little Hobos" parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried. The score pulses with merriment and an unabashed desire to make you laugh.

At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing ... and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, Ragtime weaves together three distinctly American tales — that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant, and a daring young Harlem musician — united by their courage, compassion, and belief in the promise of the future. Their compelling stories are set to a glorious, Tony Award-winning score with a book based on the classic E. L. Doctorow novel.
